ABSU To Establish Faculty Of Computing and Cybernetic Sciences

Abia State University has set to establish a Faculty of Computing and Cybernetic Sciences.

The Vice-Chancellor and Chairman of Senate, Professor Ndukwe J. Okeudo, who announced this cheering news at the 278th Regular meeting of Senate, disclosed that as part of the Reform Agenda of the present University Administration, in line with the New Abia Project of His Excellency, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, OFR, Executive Governor of Abia State and Visitor to the University, stated that Abia State University should not be seen as lagging behind and not part of Universities providing modern knowledge and technology in Artificial Intelligence and Robotics.

The Vice-Chancellor further disclosed that the new Faculty of Computing and Cybernetic Sciences will comprise of the following five Departments:

1. Department of Computer Science
2. Department of Information and Communication Technology
3. Department of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics
4. Department of Software Engineering
5. Department of Cyber Security

Senate applauded the initiative and approved, as presented.
