NWUS VC warns Against Malpractice as Students Commence 2nd Semester Exams

The Vice Chancellor of the Northwest University Sokoto (NWUS), Prof. Mukhtar Umar Bunza has warned students and examination officials against malpractice. The warning is coming as students of the University commence their second semester examination on Tuesday, October 14, 2025.

Prof. Bunza, in a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer of the University, Abdallah ELKUREBE on Monday, urged students to strictly adhere to examination guidelines and to uphold the values of integrity and discipline that the University stands for.

He also assured students and staff of a smooth and transparent examination process, while reiterating its zero-tolerance stance on any form of examination malpractice.

“NWUS is an institution built on the principles of honesty, hard work, and moral rectitude. Any student or staff found engaging in examination malpractice or aiding such will face the full wrath of the University’s disciplinary measures.”

“Examinations are not just about testing knowledge; they also test character. Every student is therefore expected to uphold integrity and avoid any form of examination malpractice,” Professor Bunza cautioned.

He further warned that any student caught engaging in cheating, impersonation, or other related misconduct will face strict disciplinary action in accordance with University regulations.

He cautioned examination supervisors and invigilators to carry out their duties diligently and without compromise, emphasizing that the credibility of the University’s academic standards rests on the integrity of its examination processes.

“We count on every member of staff involved in the conduct of examinations to protect the integrity of our processes. The credibility of our results depends on the collective honesty of both students and officials,” he added.

The Vice Chancellor further encouraged students to remain calm, prepare adequately, and approach the examinations with confidence, assuring them of the University’s commitment to providing a fair and conducive environment for all.
