The Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro, ILAROPOLY Convocation Ceremony schedule 2026 has been Announced.


You are hereby informed that the Academic Board, at its Regular Meeting held on Wednesday, 14th January, 2026, deliberated extensively on the 2026 Convocation Ceremony.
At the meeting, the Board reviewed the earlier date of Wednesday, 4th February, 2026, as approved in the Academic Calendar, and observed that, in view of the revised Institutional programmes, it had become necessary to adjust the date in order to ensure adequate preparation and a successful ceremony.

Consequently, the Academic Board approved Wednesday, 15th April, 2026 as the new date for the 2026 Convocation Ceremony.
In view of the above, all Organs, Units, Committees, and Stakeholders of the Polytechnic concerned with the planning and execution of the Convocation Ceremony are hereby requested to commence and intensify necessary preparations towards the successful hosting of the programme

Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro convocation events and instructions to graduands
The Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro (now Federal University of Technology, Ilaro) has officially announced its 23rd Convocation Ceremony, inviting graduating ND and HND students of the 2024/2025 academic session, alongside the general public, to a series of events marking the milestone.
In a statement issued by the institution’s Registrar on behalf of the Acting Vice Chancellor/Rector, the week-long programme will celebrate academic excellence, institutional growth, and conferment of honorary fellowships on distinguished personalities
Order of Events
Activities for the convocation will commence on Friday, April 10, 2026, with the unveiling of the convocation mascot at the Beautiful Gate by 10:00 a.m., followed by a Jumat service at the Polytechnic Mosque at noon.
On Saturday, April 11, the institution will host a convocation funfair at the Pavilion Ground by 10:00 a.m., while a football match between staff and students will take place at the football pitch by 3:00 p.m.
A church service is scheduled for Sunday, April 12, at the Christian Union Cathedral by 10:00 a.m.
Events will continue on Monday, April 13, with an exhibition at the Multipurpose Hall by 10:00 a.m., followed by a media chat with the Acting Vice Chancellor/Rector at the Mass Communication Studio.
Tuesday, April 14, has been set aside for Alumni Day activities, including an alumni walk starting from the DSA’s office at 7:00 a.m., and an alumni dinner at the Multipurpose Hall by 5:00 p.m.
The grand finale will hold on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, with the convocation and fellowship award ceremony at the Graduation Pavilion by 9:00 a.m.
Convocation Lecture
A major highlight of the event will be the convocation lecture titled “Digital Literacy: Fundamental Skills and Job Creation Tools for Graduands in the 21st Century.” The lecture will be delivered by Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, Executive Governor of Katsina State.
Important Notice to Graduating Students
Graduating students are advised that the collection of academic gowns will begin on April 8, 2026. Payments are to be processed via the institution’s portal, with strict adherence to outlined procedures.
The management emphasized that all gowns must be returned by April 16, 2026, warning that late returns will attract a fine of ₦1,000 per day. Attendance at the convocation ceremony is compulsory for all HND graduands, with a penalty of ₦10,000 for absence.
The institution encouraged all stakeholders, alumni, and members of the public to participate in the celebration of academic achievement and institutional excellence.
