Taofeek Sheikh, a graduate of the Oke-Ogun Polytechnic, Saki Oyo State has been commended by the director-general of the national youth service corps (NYSC), Brig Gen. Shuaibu Ibrahim, for his kindness towards a maize seller in Kano state.
Taofeek who is currently serving in Kano state, met an Ebira woman roasting maize by the road side, and she gave him some maize to eat. He posted about the encounter on his social media account, and the post suddenly went viral, catching the attention of the NYSC DG.
Some social media users gave Taofeek money to give the woman in reciprocation of her kindness, and he went ahead to buy a garden umbrella to help the trader in her business against sun and rain.
He also got a phone call from the DG of NYSC, Brig Gen. Shuaibu Ibrahim, in commendation of the virtue.
