Adeyemi Federal University of Education, Ondo announces her 35th convocation for the award of Honorary Doctorate Degree (Honoris Causa), Degrees, Certificates, Diplomas, and prizes, which will take place as scheduled below:

Schedule of Events for Convocation Ceremony

Day 1: Monday, 19th May, 2025

• Event (i): Press Conference by the Vice Chancellor
  Venue: New Centre for Educational Technology (CET) Building
  Time: 10:00 AM
• Event (ii): Alumni Inter-Faculty Debate
  Venue: New Centre for Educational Technology (CET) Building
  Time: 2:00 PM

Day 2: Tuesday, 20th May, 2025

• Event: Alumni Football Competition
  Venue: Prof. Ayotunde Yoloye Sports Centre
  Time: 3:00 PM

Day 3: Wednesday, 21st May, 2025

• Event: Alumni Founder’s Day Lecture by Distinguished Alumnus Adebayo Adenipekun SAN, FCIArb
  Venue: Olusegun Obasanjo Auditorium
  Time: 10:00 AM

Day 4: Thursday, 22nd May, 2025

• Event (i): Convocation Lecture
  Guest Lecturer: Prof. Toyin Falola, Professor of History at University of Texas, Austin, USA
  Topic: The Advent of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the Future of Nigerian Tertiary Education
  Venue: Olusegun Obasanjo Auditorium
  Time: 11:00 AM
• Event (ii): Convocation Play by the Department of Theatre and Creative Arts
  Topic: Many Colours Make the Thunder King by Prof. Femi Osofisan
  Venue: Olusegun Obasanjo Auditorium
  Time: 4:00 PM

Day 5: Convocation Ceremony: Friday, 23rd May, 2025

• Events:(i) A Honorary Award of Doctorate Degree (Honoris Causa) will be given to the following eminent Nigerians:
  • The First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Her Excellency, Dr. Oluremi Tinubu (CON) (Award of Honorary Degree of Doctor of Science Education)
  • The Osemawe and Paramount Ruler of Ondo Kingdom, Oba Dr. Victor Adesimbo Kiladejo, Jillo III CFR (Award of Honorary Degree of Doctor of Science)
  • Professor of History at University of Texas, Austin, USA, Prof. Toyin Falola (Award of Honorary Degree of Doctor of Letters)
  Award of Degrees, Certificates, Diplomas, and Prizes
  Graduands of the Ceremony are:
  a) 2017/2018 Harmattan and Rain Semester Graduates (Diploma, NCE, and Degree)
  b) 2018/2019 Harmattan and Rain Semester Graduates (Diploma, NCE, and Degree)
  c) 2019/2020 Harmattan and Rain Semester Graduates (Diploma, NCE, and Degree)
  d) 2020/2021 Harmattan and Rain Semester Graduates (Diploma, NCE, and Degree)
  e) 2021/2022 Harmattan and Rain Semester Graduates (Diploma, NCE, and Degree)
  f) 2022/2023 Harmattan and Rain Semester Graduates (Degree) Venue: Prof. Ayotunde Yoloye Sports Centre
  Time: 10:00 AM (ii) Alumni Re-Union Night
  Venue: Quadrangle
  Time: 5:00 PM

D. Information to Graduands

(i) Graduands should collect their academic outfits from Thursday, 15th May, 2025, between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM in their respective Faculties on payment of relevant fees as announced earlier for statement of result, academic gown, and brochure.

(ii) Complete robes must be returned immediately after the convocation ceremony.

(iii) Academic outfits should be returned before Wednesday, 28th May, 2025. Failure to do so will attract a surcharge of N1,000.00 (One Thousand Naira only) per day.

(iv) Two (2) invitation cards per graduand will be given on the presentation of appropriate receipts at the graduands’ Faculty offices.

(v) Graduands should assemble in their respective Faculties at the convocation ground not later than 8:30 AM on Friday, 23rd May, 2025, fully robed and seated in the places allocated to them.

(vi) The tassels (cord) of the caps should be worn to the right for First Degree Graduands, and they will be required to move the tassels from the right to left at a point in time during the ceremony when the Vice-Chancellor declares “I admit you”. This signifies their admission into the body of Graduates of the Adeyemi Federal University of Education, Ondo.

(vii) Graduands are expected to stand when the Academic procession enters/leaves the Hall and when the National Anthem/University Anthem are being sung or played. Graduands are requested to please be orderly and wait till the end of the ceremonies.

(viii) Graduands should note that convocation ceremonies are solemn; therefore, movement in and out of the convocation ground will not be permitted.

F. Movement In and Out of the University During the Convocation

The main gate of the University will serve as the entrance, while the second gate located off Laje Road will be used as the exit during the period of the convocation.
