BUK Notice on Ban of Domestic Animal Rearing and Control Within the University Campuses.

The University Management wishes to remind all residents of the Staff Quarters (both on the Old and New Campuses), Zoo Road Staff Quarters, and the School of Continuing Education that the rearing of animals within the University premises is strictly prohibited.
This is clearly stated in the Revised Guidelines for Staff Housing Allocation and Maintenance, Sections C.17–C.25.
Residents who keep the permitted minimum number of domestic animals are strongly advised to ensure that such animals are properly confined and do not stray into the campus environment.
Allowing animals to roam freely within the University community:
- constitutes a violation of established regulations, and
- poses environmental, health, and safety concerns.
The Security Division will immediately commence the arrest and impoundment of stray animals found roaming within the University campuses.
Owners of such animals will be identified and held accountable in line with existing regulations.
Members found contravening this directive will face appropriate sanctions as provided in the Staff Quarters Residency Guidelines.
The University Management will not hesitate to enforce these measures to maintain order, hygiene, and the integrity of the campus environment.
All residents are therefore urged to comply fully with this directive in the collective interest of the University community.
