The Governing Council, Dorben Polytechnic Abuja* has approved the 5th Convocation Ceremony to hold on Saturday, 27th April, 2024. This was contained in the circular released by the Registrar and Secretary to the Council, Mr. V. U. Abianga, JP.

During the 5th Convocation Ceremony, over 2,650 students will be graduating

in the 2018 – 2024 Academic Sessions.

SUMMARY OF ACHIEVEMENTS

Some of the notable achievements in recent time have put Dorben Polytechnic on the Map of History as a Private Polytechnic with sterling Records. These ground breaking records are not only in Academics, but also in Technical Support and Community engagement.

You will recall that, the Polytechnic was rated 2nd best Private Polytechnic in Nigeria by National Board for Technical Education ( NBTE ) in the year 2018 Ranking of Private Polytechnics in Nigeria. This particular achievement was credited to the Proprietor, Elder, Dr. A. B. Ekwere for always making available, the necessary facilities and equipment to make learning seamless, conducive and in conformity with NBTE Minimum Standards.

As part of Excellent performance in the previous years, the Polytechnic has recorded unprecedented feat in the areas of Science and Engineering. Worthy of note here is the 2023 COREN National Practical Competition* which took place during the 31st COREN Assembly held on Tuesday, 8th August 2023 at _International Conference Centre,_ Abuja. In a National Competition which was keenly contested among Accredited Polytechnics in Nigeria ( both Publics & Privates ), Dorben Polytechnic clinched 1st and 3rd Positions in ND & HND categories respectively.

To add feather to her Professional Capacity Building in the field of Accounting, recently the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria ( ICAN ) officially presented Certificate of Accreditation to Accountancy Department for Excellent Performance. This has made the Polytechnic an Institution approved by ICAN where Professionalism is the watchword !

This achievement also proved that Dorben Polytechnic is a training ground for undergraduates who will be Professional Accountants in their chosen careers in future.

To further take a trip down memory lane, the Polytechnic organised a world class Exhibition on Science and Technology which was witnessed by the Minister of Education, Executive Secretary NBTE, President of COREN, etc. The event was also witnessed by Professional Bodies and Dignitaries from all walks of life. The Exhibition, which showcased ingenious talents in our students, was highly commended by the erstwhile Minister of Education, Prof Adamu Adamu.

It is noteworthy that, this ingenious performance was achievable as a result of dedication and team work which the Institution has professed to uphold in projecting the inherent talent and passion in Science and Engineering.

The Proprietor, Elder, Dr. A.B. Ekwere in his Goodwill Message to the Graduands challenges all graduating students who are now spread all over the world to be good ambassadors of Dorben Polytechnic by imbibing the code of ethical conduct. They should also make moral standard their guiding principles wherever they find themselves in life.
