Isa Mustapha Agwai l Polytechnic Gets New Substantive Rector

Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, has approved the appointment of Dr. Nurudeen Muazu Maifata as the substantive Rector of the state-owned Isa Mustapha Agwai l Polytechnic (IMAP), Lafia.

In a letter signed by the Secretary to the Nasarawa State Government, Labaran Shuaibu Magaji on Tuesday, Governor Sule said the development followed the due procedural stages for rector’s appointment in the Nigerian education system.

Dr. Maifata, a former Acting Rector of the institution, is a reputable Nigerian academic and experienced scholar with deep wealth of experience in teaching, research and administration.

As an Associate Professor from the Nasarawa State University, Keffi, he is a certified librarian, a fellow of the Institute of Industrial and Corporate Administrators, Member of the Nigerian Library Association among others.

He holds a Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctoral Degrees from the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Kaduna State, Northwest Nigeria.

He has conceived and worked out groundbreaking initiatives in the institution such as academic reforms and administrative-convenience measures which have received resounding accolades.

Maifata has a distinguished career, leadership experience with dedication to advancing technical
education in line with the Sule-led administration’s commitment.

Before his appointment, he served as the Polytechnic Librarian.
