University of Abuja, UNIABUJA Admission Into Sultan Maccido Institute for Peace, Leadership & Development Studies 2026. The closing date is 10 November 2026.


Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission to the Professional Postgraduate programmes of the Sultan Maccido Institute for Peace, Leadership and Development Studies of Abuja. The Institute accepts candidates from different academic backgrounds such as Engineering, Health Sciences, Natural Sciences, Social Sciences, Management Sciences, Arts, Military, Paramilitary, Agriculture, Education, Taxation and Law.

- General Admission Requirement
Applicants seeking admission to the above listed programmes must possess the following: i. Five (5) credit passes including English Language and Mathematics at ‘O’ level WASC/NECO/GCE or their equivalent at not more than two sittings.
Session Admission i. Bachelor’s degree in any discipline not below Second Class Lower except for Postgraduate Diploma programmes where candidates would be admitted with a minimum of Lower Credit or its equivalent or a recognised institution. ii. NYSC discharge certificate or exemption letter.
For Professional PhD Programmes iv. All candidates must fulfill the matriculation requirements as stipulated by the University of Abuja. v. Candidates must have attained a basic degree, professional masters and an MSc in any relevant field.
Note: Prospective candidates will undergo screening exercise to assess their eligibility to undertake the programme.
Duration of Programmes
- Postgraduate Diploma: 18 calendar months
- Master’s Degree: 18 calendar months
- Professional PhD: 3 years
- Certificate Courses: As required
