The University of Ilorin management has announced a relaxation of the penalty for late collection of certificates.

In a memo dated 24th April 2025, and addressed to all graduates, the Registrar, Mr Mansur Alfanla, FCIML, declared that the management has decided to suspend the weekly penalty increment of ₦3,000 for a period of six weeks, effective from 22nd April to 2nd June 2025.
This decision follows a review of numerous appeals from well-meaning individuals, parents, friends, and alumni, requesting a review of the weekly penalty imposed on graduates who failed to collect their certificates by the deadline of 17th January 2025.
The Registrar noted that as at 22nd April 2025, a sum of ₦39,000 was due as an additional charge. However, he warned that the penalty will be re-activated after the six-week period, which ends on 2nd June 2025.
The University’s decision aims to provide relief to graduates who have been unable to collect their certificates due to various reasons.
