University of Maiduguri, UNIMAID Appoints New Deputy Vice Chancellors.


The Governing Council of the University of Maiduguri has approved the the appointment of two new Deputy Vice-Chancellors.
Professor Babagana Bako of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology has been appointed Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Central Administration), while Professor Mohammed Ahmed Waziri of the Department of Veterinary Surgery and Theriogenology has been appointed Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic Services).
Their appointments, made on the recommendation of the Vice-Chancellor and with the approval of the University Senate, were conveyed in a letter signed by the Registrar, Ahmed Alhaji Lawan.
The appointments are in line with Section 4(1)-4(5) of the Universities (Miscellaneous Provisions) Decree No. 11 of 1993, and each will serve a tenure of two years.
The appointments take effect from 18th September, 2025.
