This is to inform candidates who are interested in the University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) Basic Studies programme that the Admission Form for the 2023/2024 academic session is out.
What is UNIPORT Basic Studies Programme?
The UNIPORT Basic Studies programme is a one year programme. They accept candidate who didn’t write or failed UTME/JAMB. Upon successful completion of the programme, the candidate will be offered provisional admission into UNIPORT. Such candidate will start from year one. However that year (2023), the candidate must obtain the minimum cut-off mark for universities and must also make UNIPORT their choice of institution.
How Much is UNIPORT Basic Studies School Fees?
The total amount for the UNIPORT Basic Studies school and acceptance fees is approximately One Hundred and Twenty Thousand Naira (N120,000) only. Accommodation fees is not included in the stated amount..

Candidates should possess WASSC/SSCE/NECO/NABTEB Ordinary Level with credit passes in at least 5 relevant subjects. See Table below for further details.

COURSE DURATION: The Programme is for a period of one year (one academic session).
How to Apply for UNIPORT Basic Studies Admission.
Application is online, Logon to www.uniport.edu.ng and follow the instructions; a fee of Twenty Thousand Naira (N20,000.00), excluding Bank charges is required. Payment can be made at designated Banks nationwide. The names on candidates’ O’ Level Certificates must be the same as what is filled online. Any false information given automatically disqualifies the applicant.
All applicants must have personal and functional phone number and email address for further communication from the School and should visit the University website regularly.
Registration of successful candidates will be announced in due course.
NOTE:
- AT THE END OF THE PROGRAMME, SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES REQUIRE THE NATIONAL MINIMUM SCORE IN THE 2023 UNIFIED TERTIARY MATRICULATION EXAMINATION (UTME) AND MUST HAVE CHOSEN UNIPORT TO TRANSIT TO YEAR 1.
