We Now Run Cyber Security, Engineering, says Crescent Varsity VC at Matriculation

The Vice Chancellor of Crescent University, Abeokuta, Prof. Ibraheem Gbajabiamila has unveiled the newly approved programmes of the institution by the National Universities Commission (NUC).

In his address at the 21st Matriculation for the 2025/2026 academic session of the prestigious university, Gbajabiamila said the institution had commenced BSc programmes in Software Engineering and Cyber security, stressing that “all our degree programmes are fully accredited by the NUC and professional bodies”.

He enjoined freshers across all departments of the university to refrain from cultism, drug abuse, violence, examination malpractice and other social vices as these could send them away from the university.

In his remarks, the Proprietor and Chairman, Board of Trustees, Prince Adesegun Ajibola SAN while expressed appreciation to parents for believing in the vision of academic and moral excellence of Crescent University.

He also admonished that they should see Crescent University as “our own project” rather than “their university”.

Ajibola acknowledged Crescent University Alumni Association for donating Five Million Naira to support its alma matter and also pledging to support a building project for the institution.

He urged the newly matriculated students to follow the footsteps of the alumni in the nearest future by supporting their alma matter in growth and development.

The matriculation produced a total of 567 full-time students from six colleges namely: Bola Ajibola College of Law (BACOLAW),College of Arts Social and Management Sciences (CASMAS) and College of Health Sciences (COHES).

Other Colleges are College of Natural and Applied Sciences (CONAS), College of Information and Communication Technology (CICOT) and College of Environmental Sciences (COES).

The university also matriculated 270 part-time students across its various programmes.

The Registrar, Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, ably represented by Head of Matriculation and Monitoring, Mrs Kafayat Ibiwoye, while congratulating the newly matriculated students, lauded Crescent University for complying with admission procedures.
