A recent report has shed light on the concerning issue of out-of-school children across various states in Nigeria, with northern states taking the lead in percentages.

According to a report published by TheCable on Thursday, March 21, Kebbi, Sokoto, and Yobe states have emerged with the highest percentages of children aged 6–15 out of school, standing at 67.6%, 66.4%, and 62.9%, respectively.

In contrast, Anambra state has the lowest percentage of out-of-school children at 2.9%, followed by Imo state and Ekiti state with 5.1% each, as reported by Tribune.

The stark disparity between the northern and southern states underscores the urgent need for intervention to address the educational challenges faced by children in certain regions of the country.
