Delta State University, Abraka, DELSU 18th Convocation Ceremony Schedule has been Released. The convocation will hold from Friday, 24th April, 2026 to Saturday, 2nd May, 2026.


The Vice-Chancellor Professor Andy Ogochukwu Egwunyenga on behalf of the Governing Council, Senate, Staff and students of Delta State University Abraka cordially invites the general public to her 18th convocation ceremony scheduled to hold as follows;
It is hereby announced for the information of all 2024/2025 graduands (Regular, Sandwich, SLT, Weekend, Part-time and Affiliates), their parents/guardians and the general public that the 18th Convocation Ceremony of the Delta State University, Abraka, for the Award of Diplomas, Admission into First Degrees, Award of Higher Degrees and Award of Prizes has been scheduled as follows:

DELSU Convocation Ceremony Programme of Events
Day 1: Friday, 24th April, 2026
Jumat Prayers for our Muslim members of the DELSU Community.
Day 2: Sunday, 26th April, 2026
Pre-Convocation Service at St. Paul Catholic Chaplaincy, Site II, Abraka Campus (8:30 a.m.).
Day 3: Tuesday, 28th April, 2026
- Vice-Chancellor’s Press Conference (10:00 a.m.)
- Sports Activities: Novelty Match (4:00 p.m.)
Day 4: Wednesday, 29th April, 2026
- Convocation Lecture (10:00 a.m.)
- Convocation Drama (4:00 p.m.)
Day 5: Thursday, 30th April, 2026
- Founder’s Day Thanksgiving Service at Convocation Arena, Site III, Abraka Campus (10:00 a.m.)
- Arts Exhibition (2:00 p.m.)
- Alumni Day (4:00 p.m.)
Day 6: Saturday, 2nd May, 2026 (Convocation Day)
The main ceremony includes the award of Diplomas, First Degrees, and Higher Degrees; Investiture of Professor Emeritus; Conferment of Honorary Degrees; and Award of Prizes. All graduands must join the procession by 9:00 a.m.
Gown Collection Period
Monday, 20th – Thursday, 30th April, 2026: Graduands are to collect academic gowns and scrolls. Note that all gowns must be returned by Monday, 4th May, 2026 to avoid penalties.
Guidelines for Graduands
Requirements for Gown Collection: Graduands must deposit the original copies of their Statement of Results and show evidence of payment for hiring the academic gown at their respective Faculty Offices.
- Late Returns: Failure to return the gown by May 4th attracts a penalty fee of ₦500 per day.
- Seating: Graduands and guests are advised to be seated before 9:00 a.m. in their designated sections.
- Conduct: Unauthorized movement and photography are not allowed during the official ceremony. Photographers and graduands should complete such activities before entering the arena or after the ceremony ends.
- Clearance: All graduands must complete their clearance in their College/School/Faculty before the ceremony to facilitate the collection of Degree Certificates on the day of Convocation.
- Transcripts: Graduands are requested to provide an active email address for their students’ copy transcript.
The Vice-Chancellor congratulates all Graduands, Parents/Guardians, Stakeholders, and the entire University Community on this landmark occasion.
