FCE Zaria Commissions New Computer-based Test Center

Federal College of Education Zaria has officially commissioned new computer based test center.

In a bid to digitalize the institution, the College has commissioned a Computer-Based Test centre for JAMB examination and other computer-based tests.

Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, the project architect, Mal. Jamie Usman explained that the building is comprising two large halls and many spacious offices.

He said that the centre has the capacity to accommodate 480 students on the ground floor, and likewise, the upstairs. He then took the dignitaries around the building for inspection.

In his comments, the Bursar of the College Dr. Muhammad Sani Uwaisu, (Garkuwan kudun Zazzau) commended the contractors for a job well done, adding that, despite some few avoidable and unintentional lapses, the building is a world-class building. He also applauded the Provost, Dr. Suleiman Balarabe, for ensuring that most projects are done and commissioned within a time frame.

At the same occasion, Dr. Metimemola lauded the effort of the Provost for ensuring the College is moving forward both in structures and capacity. He also prayed that the College would come to the attainment of having more than one or two CBT centres.

The Dean of the School of Education, Dr. Lawal Dani Garba, gave kudos to the Provost, Dr. Suleiman Balarabe, and the Federal government for considering the project worthy of the TETFUND intervention program.

He also lauded the efforts of the contractors and the Management for outstanding performance.
Similarly, the Director of Works, Qs. Hassan Buba explained that since the coming of the Provost, many projects were completed and handed over, such as the CBT, ICT, and others that are still in the pipeline, which hopefully will be completed before the end of the year.

In his remarks, Provost Dr Suleiman Balarabe clarified that he is approaching all of the projects with an eye toward the future. According to him, he plans to digitalize the College and also intends to convert the next approved TETFUND grant to furnish the CBT Center.

He thanked the contractors, contributors, and his Management team who have shown him great support in all his progressive activities in the College, adding that since the inception of the College, there is no Provost has had it so good like him since he became Provost, there has never been a time when there was any dispute within the Members of the Management. He urged all staff to work as a team with love of one another at heart without discrimination of any kind, as time is transient. “So be aware of how you treat one another,” he added.

The project manager, Usman Muhammad, handed over the certificate and keys of the building after declaring that they had completed the work within the allotted time and specifications and also giving God the glory for seeing this day. The Provost, in turn, handed the keys to the Director of Works, who in turn handed over to the Chief Security Officer, Asp. Haruna Bello.
Present at the occasion were, all the members of the Management, Deans, Heads of Units, and Pressmen.
