Federal Government Approves Kariyoma College of Nursing Sciences in Lafia – Take-Off Set for 2026.

I refer to the application and subsequent Approval/Resources Inspection visit to Kariyoma College of Nursing Sciences, Lafia, Nasarawa State.
I hereby convey the approval of the Honourable Minister of Education to establish the Institution in line with the provision of Act CAP E3 LPN 2004 with effect from 6th February, 2026.
The Board has also approved the Interim Accreditation for the following academic programme and the corresponding number of streams for the take-off of the Institution:
- Institutional Administration (Granted Approval);
- ND Nursing Sciences
The approval is strictly based on the number of streams indicated above and compliance with the extant government regulations and policies as they affect Private Polytechnic and similar Institutions.
Admission of students into the approved programme should commence with effect from the 2025/2026 sessions.
The approval to commence the programme lapses if admission does not take place within the period stated above. Thereafter, the admission can only be allowed to take place after a fresh Resources Inspection visit has been carried out at the instance of the Institution.
The approved programme will be due for Initial Accreditation when the first set of students are in the third or fourth semester of study.
