FUDMA Special Resit Programme Guidelines 2026

FUDMA Senate Approves Special Resit Programme .

The Senate of the Federal University Dutsin-Ma, at its 141st Regular Meeting held on Thursday, 16th July, 2026, approved the conduct of the 2026 Special Re-Sit. This decision is anchored in the University’s commitment to academic equity and the ongoing national curricular transition mandated by the National Universities Commission (NUC), with the outgoing BMAS (Benchmark Minimum Academic Standard) now officially replaced by CCMAS (Core Curriculum and Minimum Academic Standards).

Following the successful graduation of the final BMAS students’ cohorts, the Senate is persuaded that this Special Re-sit programme offers a timely and definitive opportunity for all remaining students to resolve their deficiencies, graduate and enable the University to fully transition to the new CCMAS framework without encumbrances.

ELIGIBILITY AND INELIGIBILITY

The programme is categorized into two:

  • Special Re-Sit Examination
  • Reinstatement Special Re-Sit Examination

Special Re-Sit Examination
i. The Re-sit is ONLY for BMAS courses. Thus, NO CCMAS Course (s) should be registered for special re-sit examinations.
ii. Only students on BMAS who have a maximum of Twenty-four credit units, which prevented them from graduating at spill-over I, spill-over II, and expired residency, are to be considered for the Special Re-Sit Examinations. In addition to central registration, the affected students are to pay a non-refundable fee of N 10,000 per course.

Reinstatement
i. Students who have exhausted their residency;
ii. Candidates who absented themselves due to sickness and financial constraints;
iii. Students withdrawn on the basis of low academic performance will be considered for reinstatement into appropriate level and Programme of Study, respectively;
iv. The consideration is not for those who were withdrawn for any MISCONDUCT CASE(s).

In view thereof, the Deans and Head of Departments may wish to note the above Senate decision and treat accordingly, please.

Thank you
