The University of Abuja (now Yakubu Gowon University, Abuja) has officially announced the commencement of applications for its postgraduate programmes within the College of Health Sciences for the 2025/2026 academic session.
The Institute of Reproductive Health (IRH), in collaboration with the Institute of Medical Sciences Africa (IMSA), is inviting suitably qualified candidates to apply for several specialized medical and laboratory science courses.

PROGRAMMES
Applicants can choose from the following postgraduate degrees and diplomas focused on human medicine:
- Master of Science (MSc) in Reproductive Physiology and Assisted Reproductive Technology.
- Master of Science (MSc) in Clinical Embryology.
- Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) in Andrology.
- Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) in Cryopreservation of Gametes and Embryos.
- Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) in Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI).
UNIABUJA College Of Health Sciences Entry Requirements
Applicants seeking admission to the programmes must fulfil the following entry requirements
To be eligible for these advanced programmes, candidates must meet the following criteria:
O’Level Standards: Five credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (WASC/NECO/GCE) obtained in no more than two sittings.
Professional Degree: Candidates must hold an MBBS degree with a minimum of 4 years post-qualification experience.
Registration: Must be registered with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).
Preferred Status: Preference will be given to MBBS holders who have completed Part 1 or 2 of the National Postgraduate Medical College or the West Africa College of Surgeons, specifically those currently working in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
Natural Sciences Eligibility: Notably, holders of a B.Sc degree in any of the natural sciences, Laboratory Sciences, or BMLS are also eligible to apply for all IRH programmes.

A non-refundable application fee of N 50,000.00 (Fifty thousand Naira) only should be paid to the University of Abuja on the application portal

Essential Instructions for Applicants
Transcript Requests: Prospective candidates must process a Transcript Request (Form A2) through the application portal. Evidence of this request must be forwarded with all application forms.
Submission of Records: Academic transcripts should be sent via email to [email protected]. Hard copies should be addressed to the Secretary, School of Postgraduate Studies, University of Abuja.
