‘Work hard to excel ‘- FULAFIA VC Abdul Rahman charges students

The Vice-Chancellor, Federal University of Lafia (FULafia), Professor Shehu Abdul Rahman, has called on the students to work hard and come out in flying colours.

He made this call during the 5th Orientation Programme of the part-time degree students held at the Mallam Adamu Adamu Twin Hall, Permanent Site Campus, FULafia.

He called on the students to shun all forms of vices and activities that would negatively affect their studies.

Declaring the event open, the vice-chancellor, represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Administration, Professor Ali Ishaq Shugaba, urged students to heed lectures presented during the event, saying that they should “use this opportunity to know exactly the workings of the University, as the university is a place for continuous learning.”

In his remarks, the Registrar of the University, Malam Nuradeen Abdu, congratulated the newly admitted part-time students for scaling through the admission process, praying for them to complete their programmes successfully.

He urged them to work hard and graduate with good grades to secure themselves better opportunities in the future.

In his welcome address, the Acting Director, Centre for Continuing Education and Professional Development (CCEPD), Dr. Hassan I. Imam, appreciated the vice-chancellor and members of his Management team for their support and congratulated the newly admitted students for being among the few ones to gain admission.

Dr. Imam advised the students to take the orientation exercise seriously, saying it was designed to provide them with information on how to live in the academic community.

The Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic Affairs, Prof. Aleruchi Chuku also attended the event, among others.
