BUK Postgraduate Registration Procedure & Deadline 2022/2023 (UPDATED)

BUK Postgraduate Registration Procedure: Bayero University Kano Postgraduate Registration Procedure and Deadline for 2022/2023 Academic Session.

AllSchool is pleased to to inform both Fresh and Returning Postgraduate students of Bayero University Kano (BUK) that registration has commenced.

LATEST UPDATE: BUK notice on extension of registration for postgraduate students 

The Management of Bayero University, Kano, after due consultation with stakeholders, has decided to extend the period for payment of registration fees of both fresh and returning Postgraduate students for the 2022/2023 academic session.

In this regard, fresh students are given upto mid-night of 30th December, 2023 to register. They will be allowed to write the First Semester examinations. However, their results will not be released and will not be allowed to proceed to the Second Semester until they present evidence of payment of registration fees.

Similarly, returning Postgraduate students who have completed their course work will be allowed to continue with consultations with their supervisors till the end of the session. However, they will not be allowed to conduct seminars, internal and external examinations until they present evidence of payment of registration fees.

All other activities related to BUK Postgraduate registration will end on 30th December, 2023. Students are advised to complete their registration on or before the deadline.

BUK Postgraduate Registration Guidelines

The registration guidelines are divided into three parts;

1. Authentication
2. Login, and;
3. registration procedure

How to Authenticate BUK Postgraduate Studentship

All students whether fresh or returning need to authenticate their studentship before starting the registration process.

Fresh students need their

1. Admission letter serial number,
2. Application Number and
3. Registration Number for authentication.

Fresh students are free to choose their password at the point of authentication. After successful authentication, a username is generated for a student.

Returning students need their

1. Registration Number,
2. Last Session’s Username and
3. Last Session’s Password for authentication.

Returning students have a choice of changing their password at the point of authentication. All passwords must be at least 6 characters long and are case-sensitive.

How to Login to BUK Postgraduate Portal

1. After successful authentication, students visit: https://mybuk2.buk.edu.ng/sps/login.php
2. Enter your username and password to login in order to start or continue with the registration process.

BUK Postgraduate Registration Procedure

The registration procedure is as follows:

i) Profile Update: Students must first update their profile. Note that students are strongly advised to update their phone numbers and emails as they are used on their BUK Personalised Payment Form (BUKPPF).

ii) Student Information Form (S.I.F.): After profile update students can generate and download/print their Student Information Form (SIF).

iii) BUK Personalised Payment Form (BUKPPF): Students must generate, download and print a BUK Personalised Payment Form (BUKPPF). Registration fees are reflected on student’s BUKPPF, to be paid using Remita e-Payments and e-Collection platform (click here for the payment procedure). Make sure you carefully read, understand and follow the payment procedure, as BUK will not be liable for any lost of funds as a result of incorrect data entry. Students must make sure that they entered ALL the information of the BUKPPF EXACTLY. Students must also ensure that

• Name of MDA
• Name of Service/Purpose
• Description
• Amount to Pay (₦)
• Registration No.
• BUKPPF ID
• Payer’s Full Name
• Payer’s Email
• Payer’s Phone

are captured exactly as they are written on the BUKPPF. Note that Payer (Payer’s Full Name, Payer’s Email, Payer’s Phone) means the student, so even if the student is not the one making the payment (payment by proxy) make sure to use the student information. Any misinformation may lead to unnecessary delay in validating and processing of payment. Payments are usually validated and processed within 24/48 hours of making payment. NOTE THAT ALL FEES ARE NOT REFUNDABLE AFTER PAYMENTiv) Student Payment Receipt (S.P.R.): After payment is validated and processed, students must generated and download/print Student Payment Receipt (SPR) in order to continue with the registration.

v) Course Registration: After printing the SPR, a student can register his/her courses. Students are strongly advised to seek the guidance of their respective level coordinators on the courses they are supposed to register with any limitations and/or restrictions.

vi) Course Registration Form (C.R.F.): After course registration students must generate and download/print the Course Registration Form (CRF). The CRF contains the details of the registered courses.

vii) Registration Acknowledgement Slip (R.A.S.): After printing the CRF, students can print the Registration Acknowledgement Slip (RAS) to acknowledge that they have successfully completed their registration process.

Students can logout and continue the registration at a later time. The next thing we will show you is how to pay the BUK postgraduate school fees.

Before pay for the BUK postgraduate fees continue, make sure you have;

• Succefully authenticated your studentship
• Login to your account
• Update your profile
• Generate/print your BUK Personalised Payment Form (BUKPPF). How to Pay BUK Postgraduate School Fees

1. visit www.remita.net
2. Select “Pay A Federal Government Agency”
3. On the “Name of MDA” start typing Baye and a drop down will be shown, make sure you BAYERO UNIVERSITY, KANO – 1000129
4. After selecting Name of MDA as BAYERO UNIVERSITY, KANO – 1000129 a drop down box for the Name of Service/Purpose
5. Several Services/Purposes are in the drop down as shown below, make sure you select BBS REGISTRATION
6. After selecting BBS REGISTRATION as the Name of Service/Purpose, next enter the Description. Make sure the Description matches exactly with the Description on your BUKPPF
7. After entering the Description exactly as in your BUKPPF, next enter the Amout to Pay (₦). Make sure the Amount to Pay matches exactly with the Amount on your BUKPPFAfter entering the Amount exactly as in your BUKPPF, next enter your Registration No. Make sure the Registration No. matches exactly with the Registration No. your BUKPPF
8. After entering the Registration No. exactly as in your BUKPPF, next enter your BUKPPF ID. Make sure the BUKPPF ID matches exactly with the BUKPPF ID on your BUKPPF
9. After entering the BUKPPF ID exactly as in your BUKPPF, next enter the Payer’s Full Name.
10. After entering the Payer’s Full Name exactly as in your BUKPPF, next enter the Payer’s Email.
11. After entering the Payer’s Email exactly as in your BUKPPF, next enter the Payer’s Phone.
12. Enter the characters of the image before proceeding to payment.
13. Make sure all the information entered matches exactly with what is in your BUKPPF, any inconsistency may delay or invalidate your registration. After confirming all entries are correct click on Proceed to Payment Button
14. Your Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR) is generated and the following invoice is displayed.
15. You can click on “View Payment Details” to see your payments details.
16. You can use any of the payment options (make sure to use your RRR correctly)
17. You can click on “Print Invoice” to print your invoice.
18. You are advised to print your Remita Invoice and compare the information with that of your BUKPPF and make sure that information on both are the same.
