The Management of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, through the College of Postgraduate Studies (CPGS), has announced a 50% tuition fee waiver for overstayed postgraduate students as part of an amnesty approved by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ugochukwu Bond Stanley Anyaehie.


According to an internal memorandum dated May 18, 2026, the amnesty, approved at the University’s 102nd Board Meeting held on March 24, 2026, is aimed at providing financial relief and encouraging eligible students to complete their programmes.
Key highlights of the amnesty include:
- Overstayed postgraduate students will pay only 50% of their outstanding tuition fees.
- The waiver applies to tuition fees only.
- Students are required to have paid their school fees in full up to the end of the maximum duration of their programmes.
- For the period of overstay, students will pay 50% of the outstanding tuition fees.
- The amnesty window will close at the end of the 2025/2026 academic session.
The University therefore urges all eligible postgraduate students to take advantage of this opportunity before the expiration of the amnesty period.
