NUC, CHPRBN, HRORBN Grant ECOHSAT Approval FOR BCHS & B.HIM Programmes In Affiliation With KWASU.


Following the approval granted by the National Universities Commission (NUC) in the 2021/2022 academic session to Emirates College Of Health Sciences And Technology (ECOHSAT) to commence degree programmes in affiliation with Kwara State University Malete (KWASU), the Community Health Practitioners Registration Board of Nigeria (CHPRBN) and Health Records Officers Registration Board of Nigeria (HRORBN) also gave their separate approvals and recognition of the degree programmes.
Recently a 4 man CHRPBN team led by Dr Abdullahi Abubakar Kankia, Malam Aliyu Sokoto, Alh.Yakubu Ibrahim Kofar-Soro and Malam Hudu Tambai conducted a 3 days meticulous resource verification exercise where they inspected lecture rooms, library, ICT unit, laboratories, student’s hostel, staff capacity/offices, college auditorium and theatre.
Furthermore clinical posting areas such as Kabuga Primary Health Centre and Muhammad Abdullahi Wase Teaching Hospital were also visited to ascertain the level of collaboration with the college in accordance to SIWES practices during students’ practical postings.
The team expressed satisfaction with the level of preparedness, manpower, equipments and facilities put in place for running the degree programmes and enjoyed the college to continue operating on this path of excellence.
It could be recalled also that the HRORBN accreditation team led by Dr Nasir Sani conducted a scrupulous resource inspection exercise on 14th to 16th July 2024 which led to a communique of approval by HRORBN dated 22nd August 2024 and signed by the Registrar/CEO Dr Babagana Mustapha.
The Director ECOHSAT Dr Shuaibu Suleiman in his remarks expressed gratitude to the medical facilities for their warm reception and cooperation during the official visit and he reassured the CHRPBN team of the management’s commitment to academic excellence and added that the milestone of the BCHS programme achieved will enable students write their part-one examination in 300L and upon completion of their 500L they will be licensed as Community Health Scientist.
With this recent development ECOHSAT now offers degree programmes in Community Health, Environmental Health, Public Health and Health Information Management with more courses to follow in the future under the able leadership of the resolute Director, Dr Shuaibu Suleiman who is poised in promoting the healthcare profession through standard and quality academic training.
