Kaduna State Polytechnic Clarifies Delay in NYSC Mobilization.

The Management of Kaduna Polytechnic has issued a clarification to all its graduates concerning delays in mobilization for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) scheme.
In a memo dated 30th January, 2026, and signed by the Registrar, Dr. Muhammed Tanimu, the institution acknowledged the concerns raised by prospective corps members but stated that the delay is a nationwide issue, not unique to the polytechnic.
The memo cited factors contributing to the delays, which include:
- the large volume of graduates requiring verification
- the batch system used by NYSC
- issues stemming from the graduates themselves
These self-inflicted issues include improper regularization of admissions with the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), as well as errors or incomplete documentation submitted by the graduates.
The notice provided specific guidance based on graduation year:
- 2024 Graduates: Described as “relatively few,” they are still being processed for mobilization in upcoming NYSC batches.
- Pre-2024 Graduates: Any graduate from before 2024 who has not yet been mobilized is strongly advised to visit the Institution’s NYSC Desk Officer immediately, as their case likely involves an unresolved issue requiring checks and resolution.
The Management emphasized a new compulsory step for all prospective corps members, regardless of their graduation year. Clearance from the Nigeria Education Repository and Databank (NERD) is now mandatory before mobilization can proceed. All graduates are required to register with NERD and obtain the necessary clearance. Failure to comply with this requirement will result in further delays.
The Management appealed for patience from the affected graduates while also urging them to ensure they fulfill all their personal responsibilities to facilitate the process.
The memo, referenced KPT/CA/INF.23/VOL.VI/206, was addressed to all prospective corps members who are graduates of Kaduna Polytechnic.
